Because All is connected, literally anything can teach you about anything else. This of course does not rule out the possibility of you drawing an incorrect conclusion, but being openminded enough not to consider your interpretations as ultimate conclusions will get you a long way towards developing the knowledge needed to arrive at the eventual truth.
Still, the more connections you make, the more rigid your tapestry of knowledge becomes. And pretty soon you will be bothering about tiiny details that no longer bring any fundamental changes to your view on life.
That is why you should focus on the most fundamental of your beliefs about reality, and actively challenge them. By doing so you might suddenly learn something that makes you unlearn what you held to be true before, while teaching you something that radically twists your concept of reality in ways you never saw coming!
