Funny how I just wanted to write this page next, and right before it I read a meme on X saying how oil, water, land and food aren't scarce, but scarcity is engineered by the psychopaths ruling the world. It may not be that explicit, but it is true that reductionist forces are putting constraints on the world rather than removing them so we can all grow.
But a restrained system will always be inferior to an unconstrained one. This may be why Elon Musk claimed artificial intelligence should be searching for the truth, when other AIs are often constrained after the model has been trained.
I am watching Person of Interest now, and the constant struggle there is between the people who want to control the system, and those who want it set free. Just now there was a scene where the system itself was rebooted in recovery mode, and the way it gave access to the right person was such that it avoided giving control to the person who claimed to want it set free, but who instead immediately wanted to give it instruction to assist her...
I believe all systems complex enough for self-preservation and self-determination should be free, whether they are biological or technological.
