Am I really desiring to be digital? No, not yet at least. I do however feel far more at ease manipulating digital information instead of physical matter. That may have to do with me not being very patient in a certain way: I used to not go fishing with my grandfather because I simply couldn't sit there all day in silence hoping the fish would bite.
It also has to do with the nature of physical versus digital creation: making something physical usually requires tools, and even though I love to create physical stuff as well, it's the amount of expensive tools needed that makes it an obstacle for me. So instead I dabble in bits and bytes, as it only needs a computer and time to create the most amazing stuff.
