The word discrimination is often used in the negative sense, as if one thing is better than the other. But the real meaning of the word is more general: to distinguish one thing from another. No value difference implied.
But this kind of division has also made our world more and more complex, resulting in something that many people just pass by because it has little or nothing to do with their day to day life.
But discrimination is important. Just now my desktop computer just glitched right after I started another episode of Person of Interest. I reckoned it was spontaneously rebooting again, but instead it looked like the side screen just suddenly switched off, which caused the episode to suddenly appear on the center screen. Not sure why that happened...
