Right this moment I am watching an episode of Stargate SG-1 where one of the soldiers has gone rogue, believing himself to be a god . And he may have played his role fairly convincingly, but he was no more a god than you or I are!
But if anyone does tell you they are a god or somehow better than you, leave them in to their own reality, and get out of Dodge in a hurry!
