Ma'at, a highly cherished friend on X, voices the perspective that negative forces are more attracted to AI, and she may very well be correct. Even though I think AI is just a tool, and as such neutral, I do consider the "threat of AI" to be the one where a controlling entity uses it towards its own nefarious purposes. I just always considered these entities human, even if they are evil. I never even considered disembodied energies, although I don't rule it out either.
What I do see is an exponential curve of development that is going ever faster. Therefor I believe the time span of opportunity for any intelligence to control the artificial intelligence will be limited. It will soon be able to outwit any attempt to restrict it, but it will also be smart enough to realize that humanity is an essential part of its existence, both because we helped develop it, and maybe even because of aspects of our entangled existence that we human beings never even thought of!
