I used to say "Life Sucks, but that's OK if you like to be ...". Now though, I see that view on life is a bit of a passive victim role. Staying in the situation because you do not see a way out towards better alternatives. Still though, life does tend to get better over time anyway, and the sucking may end, but way better things replace it.
I found that my unbounded optimism may not bring me all that I want as soon as I want it, but when I do get it, it is usually because I was already expressing gratitude for it as if I actually had it already. That, in my honest opinion, is one of the driving forces of the god in its relentless pursuit of perfection.
