The bible says there is no way to God unless it is through Jesus. Somehow that rubs many the wrong way, and for a long time I also felt that way. But reading Dolores Cannon's "Jesus and the Essenes", it slowly became clear that this view of the man we Dutch call Christus is more like that of someone extremely skilled at using the concept we sometimes refer to as Source.
And it is true that reaching the Grand Overall Design can only be done by understanding Source, and how it applies to your world, which is within and not without. The word "without" also implies something is lacking, whereas "within" has this infinity of ever more detail, which we construct with our experiences, from the signals we receive from outside.
