Sometimes it is time for spring cleaning. This morning, on the last day of my brief vacation, I decided Windows 11 has become entirely to "helpful" in its effort to push Edge and the Microsoft AI down my throat. Therefor, I spent most of the day backing up my files, installing Ubuntu, and then getting the essential programs to run again.
The one thing keeping me tied to Windows was my familiarity with a very ancient and easy to use (for me) drawing program, which is used to make the images for the acrosstics on moorelife.nl. But fortunately I got that and my favorite Notepad++ editor running as well, along with the homebrew Python program that helps me generate the pages for the site.
So, a very responsive system now, with almost no files in use, which over time will be thoughtfully tuned and tweaked to only have those programs installed which I actually use!
