I claimed the domain moorelife.nl on September 25th, 2004, over twenty years ago already. And the actual contents of it grew over time, the ideas forming as I went along. I started rhyming in 2001, on the second anniversary of 9/11. I had always wanted to be able to rhyme the way my grandfather did, but not in the Dutch dialect that he used.
Instead, my dialect turned out to be that of acrosstics, with a few extra restrictions. Write a word from top to bottom, then each letter should start with a new word, and the words in sequence should form a flowing sentence. After each word small things can be added like 2, 4, &, in, etc.
After a while the site became to unwieldy to edit by hand, so I wrote a Python script to help me generate the HTML code required to show off the acrosstics. And last week, with the help of Grok, I completely rewrote and upgraded it, so now only the process of creating the initial acrosstic text and background image is manual: once the full resolution image has been made, and the story file started, running the program will generate the downsized images, and generate the HTML pages, and upload them to the site if requested.
