Nothing gives me more pleasure than helping others, because I know from experience that that implicitly means helping myself as well. But I learned not to go out of my way to help others, for help is not always appreciated.
And also there are those worthy of help and those that just feel they are entitled to it. The latter are the ones that address you randomly on social media and other communication channels, feigning interest and meanwhile attempting to get you to do their bidding in the most sneaky of ways. Sure, some will try to actually help, but getting to the point where you can actually trust them takes time and effort.
