There is a living network of recycling old parts from consumer goods that are no longer produced, but are still being enjoyed and appreciated by many people. YouTube has numerous channels about repairing, some very niche like a guy only repairing Tonka Toys, to people finding long abandoned cars and other vehicles and upcycling them to working or even fully restored!
I've thought about starting a parts supply business myself, but somehow my life has always revolved more around software than around hardware. And I simply do not have enough room to store lots and lots of parts. But maybe there is something I could do in that area: it would be nice if there was a website that could tell you where to find all those used parts for whatever device we still want to restore to working order again. I'll let that idea simmer for a while, because it would be a useful activity to work on, and I love being productive!
