In the circular society we refuse, reduce, re use, recycle, repurpose, and refurbish. That does not mean that we all do all of those things all of the time. Some will only buy newly produced stuff, while others always try to buy second hand, and still others bring stuff they don't use to those secondhand stores, or give it freely to others.
All of them are creating abundance in one way or another. Those who buy new are keeping factories open and workers employed. Those who give their old stuff to others for free save people money, and those who give it to secondhand stores are again enabling more circulation of money and jobs for the people involved in the sorting and sifting of what can be resold, and what can be recycled or repurposed.
