Re-using things is an essential part of the circular economy. It lengthens the useable lifespan of products, by spreading it over owners who have different expectations about the stuff they use. I guess most of us fit in one category or another based on what our desires and view on life are. Being a software engineer, my computers are almost always brandnew and quite powerful. But other stuff I buy secondhand, like for instance CDs.
I'm also helping people by repairing their stuff during our local Repair Cafe sessions. Not just because it keeps people's devices working longer, but mainly because I love working with technology, and using my talents and passions is making me feel good. That it helps others, is a nice side effect!
