Edison famously learned about a thousand ways how not to make a light bulb, but he obviously only needed one way to do it correctly. And the original light bulb was relatively simple compared to our current ones, which are typically equipped with some circuitry to step down the mains voltage to something that can safely be used to power a bunch of light emitting diodes.
And then we are only talking about the type of lighting I have in my home, which has the primary function to not let me sit in the dark after sundown. My kids have smart lights instead, which have multi-colored lights and circuitry to connect them to the home WiFi so their phones and various smart devices around the house can control them.
I prefer the simpler life , even though I do work in IT. Most of my devices are hard-wired to the network, only using WiFi as a last resort. Not that I am afraid of the EM radiation, since I feel I am immune to its proclaimed negative effects . To me it's all just frequency and resonance, the sea of electricity and magnetism that we swim in.
