Signals Obviously Unveil Novel Designs

We human beings hear so little of the frequency range of sound. But it might be relatively easy to remap the audio range of the average human, so we can extend that range to include lower and higher ranges. And it would probably not have to be much larger than a regular hearing aid.

But should we want to? We are so conditioned to hearing a certain spectrum, that suddenly extending it would sound very weird to us. But a quick question to Grok shows that it is actually quite doable with programming. In effect it would be the same as Jordi LaForge's visor from Star Trek, but for sound instead of the light and EM spectrum.
