One of the quotes I remember from the movie Contact was when the blind guy listened to the signal that echoed Hitler's speech at the Olympics: "I'm hearing structure...". It was a good movie, and I enjoyed it a lot, even watched it several times over the years.
Like the blind man in the movie, I am also often looking for structure. But to me it is far more to be found in the information, rather than the raw sensor data of my senses. There is more structure in connections than there is in separate facts.
