Why has Elon decided to rwite TERAFAB with only one R? The answer is actually more obvious than you might think: even though it is built on earth, it is aimed at creating stuff that will mostly go into space, and not remain on terra firma. Terafab is needed because current global chip production not only is lacking in quantity for what Elon Musk has in mind, because the Muskonomy needs about five hundred times more chips for his vision of artificial intelligence in space. It is also lacking in quality and iteration speed: the new fab will be able to do the entire process of designing, testing and adjusting the process in-house, far faster than any other fabrication facility anywhere.
On top of that the rumor is going around that the setup will transport the wafers during production in their own clean containers, so there will be no need to make the entire factory a huge cleanroom! That is a kind of improvement that is typical Elon Musk: best part is a deleted part!
