Such a synchronicity again: As I write this page, Jack O'Neill is talking to the Asgard named Thor about a possible Goa'uld attack. And rather than sending a bunch of Asgardian battle cruisers, Thor reminded Jack that diplomacy is much to be preferred above violence.
Personally, I also don't resort to violence unless it is absolutely unavoidable. And that is almost never the case. I can't remember one single cae in the last thirty or so years...
