There is no such thing as stupid: you can be totally ignorant in one area, and a grand master in another. Some have what it takes to be a great chef, while others love to work with technology, or solve crossword puzzles. And some, like my girlfriend, will become awesome mothers for the simple reason they love kids!
As for some of her other skills, she's a Homescapes grandmaster: well over 450 levels already, where I am struggling still with level 115. And me? I am not a very prolific author, never had a book that actually sold big, but I do have a certain very remarkable relationship with language.
