Hope is a great way to make people feel positive. But is it the way we actually manifest change? Hope focuses on wanting change, and as such focuses on not having a certain situation. Yet in Buddhism it is actually not the action that manifests a thing, but the thought at the root of it.
Outside the world of Buddhism, we can find similar experiences in the Placebo Effect, where belief in a medicine or treatment will cure the patient, while he or she was never given the treatment in the first place.
