Patterns are often discernible in structures. Together they form hints to how the world works. Now all people see different sets of inputs, and since they have different sets of knowledge, they also interpret them differently.
As a result, we do not all agree on what is right or wrong, or even which actions are more adequate for survival of humanity. Still though, since ideas are evolving like species are, it stands to reason that the best ones are the most successful in the end.
