This shows a truly unique toy being restored to perfect working order. I am just imagining how this came into being: someone much like my grandfather who was a real tinkerer would have had an old block plane, that was no longer good enough to properly hold the plane in place. He'd have looked at it, and would have remembered having his old Meccano set in the attic, and would have decided to build his grandson a nice toy by combining the two.
Of course that all happened decades ago, so in the video above a lover of old and beautiful decided to restore it to perfect working order.
