"Beauty is in the **eye** of the **beholder**". So it is, but observation goes way beyond the five senses. It is mostly a **subjective** **matter**, a set of **preferences** spanning physical appearance, general behavior, **body** **language**, **simplicity**.

A manner of dealing with them in a **positive** way, is not to score preferences on a scale of minus infinity to **infinity**, with neutral being **zero**. Instead, see each preference as a value of zero to infinity, with one **being** neutral **value**, infinity being itself, and zero being an absolute veto. This makes it easier to calculate a total preference: merely calculate the product of all values, rather than taking the average of them, which requires adding, counting and dividing: instead we only multiply!
