It is said that "the Future's so Bright We have to wear Shades", but personally I prefer to be in the light myself. But that is because we are really exactly the same: visible light is just a small band of frequency in the larger spectrum of resonant energy, and in that same spectrum are the vibrations that come from our matter, which is just condensed energy anyway. So while most people will not be able to see it, we ourselves are luminous beings.
