As a kid, I was in awe of KITT, the computer in Michael Knight's sleek black Pontiac Trans Am. It allowed Michael to ride his car rather than to drive it. Currently (in 2023) it seems people will finally be able to ride cars rather than drive them.
My dad would rebel violently, he stated he would NEVER drive an electric car, so a computerized car would have been a terrible thing indeed. In the end he did get his way, because he died last year, saying goodbye to a world he no longer felt worth living in.
