In today's world, sharing information is considered a risk by many of the older generation, but the youth of today seems to have far less inclination to distrust information being spilled onto the web. I remember that when the Dutch 'civil service number' was introduced, promises were made that it would never be used to couple information together in order to get more power over the population. Nowadays however, the DigId (as it is called now) has its own site, and often when logged in asks the user to allow for more and more government services to send them messages in the same secure way. In a similar vein, more and more sites like for instance the health insurance companies allow their customers to log in using DigId.
Even though there is a certain measure of resistance, progress can not be halted, and will continue to develop exponentially.
