Sometimes the state things are in makes you wonder just how a thing came to be in such a condition. The same goes for the trumpet in this video: it is dented so terribly that the restorator asks himself whether it was subjected to extremely sudden deceleration after falling from a large height. I tend to disagree, because the creases in the horn are not only compressed, but also have been twisted. A very strange deformation indeed...
Still, with a lot of tender manual care, the guy succeeds in straightening out all imperfections, and replacing one part with a newly made pair of nested pipes. I guess a customer filled with gratitude was awaiting its repair.
