I've alway been a Generalist, even though the saying goes that Generalists know Nothing about Everything and Specialists (or Experts) know Everything about Nothing. Now both those examples are extremes and as such not useful, but on the sliding scale in between I still would rather be a Generalist instead of an Expert.
And seeing how Experts are used and abused nowadays, I can say that has been the right choice: "Experts Say" in today's world is seen as "Shut the fuck up and swallow what we tell you!"
Whereas I can express a relatively informed story about most things, and find the help of local AIs which have not been muzzled by big business and society.
