Whether you worship the Sun or the moon, or anything else, just remember that all of these objects and or concepts are but distinct parts of the Grand Overall Design of all that is. Each of those parts contains within it the parts that make it whole, and the parts need to work together to keep it healthy.
We have several satellites that check on the sun, and they warn us when something happens there that could potentially harm us. I believe that there is no real danger, because the Earth has survived for aeons already, and will probably be there when we are long gone. Also, it is generally known that nasa has been known to modify the images they show to the public.
