At the time it first came out, the Volkswagen Beetle was the one car in the industry that had a fully closed bottom, which prevented sand and dirt to enter the undercarriage, and thus made for a very durable design. The Tonka toy car being restored in this 
has that particular design detail in common.
The model gets a beautiful finish in blue, and some newly engineered headlights, since there was only one left on the original damaged and crushed victim.
