If we are ever to become a multi-planetary species, Mars is the most likely first stop. Venus is too warm, Mercury even hotter, and the big planets are too cold and have too much gravity. And twenty years ago I might never have thought I'd ever get as far as Mars, or even the moon.
And right now? I think before I retire, there will be a chance to embark on a kolonization mission, if SpaceX realizes the plans they have to colonize Mars. And even if I don't qualify for physical relocation, I can certainly be active in working with the effort from Earth itself.
