I've never done it yet, but to me the situation of being in a sensory deprivation tank for an hour seems infinitely more appealing than to be in a crowded room with people who do nothing but talk about subjects that seem non-relevant to me...
Probably, you might consider me an overthinker, but that would be the one trait that makes sensory deprivation a non-threat: enough internal dialog to keep myself occupied for the duration...
