Suppressing or subduing lives in order to add to the value of your possessions is a weird concept: It basically shows a lack of balance between your outer world and your inner world. And since your inner world is one made by your observations, and your thoughts and feelings about them, it stands to reason that your inner world is made up more by your beliefs than by your observations.
There will always be the people who think they have 'the facts', but an open mind will acknowledge that it can acquire knowledge by looking beyond the facts into the interpretations of their observations. That does not mean staying inactive when it comes to righting wrongs, but more by finding the improvements instead of the 'proof of wrongdoing'.
