A funny thing happened on the way home, walking from the garage where my car is being fixed: I thought up this Acrosstic based on the similarity I perceived between the English verb 'to spare', and the Dutch verb 'sparen', which means saving. I noticed how pleading for your life to be spared is something that tries to get the mirror to smile rather than smiling yourself to change the reflection. It says more about your view on life, than it says about the other. When speaking both English and Dutch, its essence feels slightly different because saving is something you do for your self. And it happens in all kinds of ways...

Then when finding an image for this acrosstic I came across a lot of spare parts, not all necessarily new. I may suck at saving money in the bank or even in my wallet, but saving all kinds of parts is a task that comes natural for an engineer. And so, we have yet another Acrosstic to add to the collection.
