What is Truth? There are gazillions of memes about truth, and the various truths are hotly debated, as is the concept of truth itself. You may know the image of the cilinder that is lit from two sides, and casts a square shadow and a circular shadow, where the shadows are named "true", and the object itself called "truth".
But of course this is an over-simplification: we can shine many lights on the object, and it will produce just as many shadows, some of which overlap and make more complex shapes which can also be considered true. But the addition of more lights creating more shadows makes discerning the truth more complex than ever before, just like the information on the Web darkens our view on what's really the truth.
I prefer to see truth as a diamond that has many facets, and we are viewing it through all the facets. But intuitively we experience the diamond, rather than constantly thinking about the ways the light travels through it. And a flaw in the diamond might be visible, but would it really diminish the reality of the diamond as you enjoy it? Would you rather focus on the flaw, or on the brilliance of the diamond?
