Profit is not just the cold calculated difference between cost and selling price. We all profit from so much more than the things we buy and sell. I for one got a priceless gift the other day, because my daughter bravely entered the realm of motherhood, for no other reason than because she and her partner wanted it that bad. Yes, I am a granddad now, and had to do exactly nothing to gain that privilege!
Of course there were things I did in the past that made this happens, but all those events had other reasons for happening. And all of them happened because I wanted them to happen. Most people who believe in karma will think of it as a zero sum game, but it is no such thing. Instead it feels more like a compound product: negative karma is smaller than one, and positive karma is larger than one. And we humans constantly add factors to the product.
