Most educated people understand evolution in the context of Darwin's "Evolution of the Species". And even though evolution theory may not be completely correct, there definitely is a mechanism of evolution at work that uses feedback and intelligence to navigate and evolve the whole of existence. I refer to it as the Grand Overall Design, and basically think none of us are separate from it. We may not believe it, but that does not preclude the possibility of it actually existing and we being a part of it.
It is like we are cancer cells, wanting to escape the form and function of our surrounding environment. And weirdly enough, the people around you will either succeed to cure you, or they won't. free will being what it is, all bets are off there. But the interview I am listening to on the side describes what will often help us "cancer cells" to find our true purpose because we see visions. I had a similar experience years ago, and it put me firmly on the path of growing and evolving, without being negative towards my environment. Oddly enough this is the way forward...
