In an ideal world, copyright should not be a right, but a matter of respect. We should all understand that each and every one of us are always RE-creating based on our daily inputs and the shoulders of all the unknown giants we stand on.
Copyright is an ancient concept, from a time where people were less evolved, and needed to put in effect rules and laws to protect themselves against others stealing their ideas. But the system is warped: patents are granted but you have to publicly divulge the details of what you are trying to protect, which basically gives everyone with access to the patent office.
In effect, any system can be hacked. It would be an infinite arms race of protection measures countered by evasive maneuvres. I propose to stop this spiral and instead head the other way like Tesla has done under @elonmusk: free up the patents, and work with the people wanting to use your technology. I truly believe that will eventually be the way humanity wins out in the end.
You may believe me or not, but fortunately my beliefs do not require you to...
